Granite Milling

The Bailes Granite Process

From selection to installation, we've got you!

STEP 1:  Prepare for your visit

Bring a Sketch:  Make a simple, hand-drawn sketch with wall to wall measurements
of the top of your cabinetry to bring with you.  This is all we need to work up a quote.

In your drawing please indicate appliances and walls.  If you're using a contractor or

cabinet representative they may also submit their layout.

If you have tile, fabric or cabinet samples, you'll find it helpful to bring those as well.

Please call us with any questions at 304‑345‑8750.

STEP 2:  A Quote

Stone Choice:  We have a large selection of natural stone available to choose from in our yard.  If it's quartz you're interested in, our showroom has samples of the most popular colors from the leading brands.

During your visit our sales associates will review your sketch and discuss any issues that may need clarified to obtain an accurate quote.

Sink Choice:  Next we'll need to know which sink you would like.  We have a large selection of quality in stock sinks to choose from.  Some of which are included in the cost of the job.  If you already have a sink in mind we will need to have it brought to our CAD office fore measurement before we can fabricate your counters.

Edge Choice:  Next you'll need to choose what edge profile you want.  This choice could affect the final quote.  Three of the profiles we offer are included in the base installation.

  • Half Bullnose aka "A" profile", Beveled and Eased are all include

  • Full Bullnose, Ogee, Modified Ogee, Custom Stacked, Greenbrier Ogee Edge and chiseled edge all cost more.

Deposit:  Once you have decided on your stone, sink and edge, we will create your quote.

If you're good with the quote, and are ready to move forward, we require 50% of your quote price to hold your stone.  This amount is fully refundable before fabrication should you have a change of heart.

Though holding stone is not required, it is recommended because our inventory is always changing.

STEP 3:  Templating Your Project

Our scheduler will contact you to arrange a time for us to visit your project location and create an exact template for your new countertop(s).

IMPORTANT Please be sure to have all cabinets installed, and your sink, faucet, and appliance information available.  Bailes Granite will not proceed with fabrication if any cabinets or appliances are moved after templates have been created and you will be charged an extra fee to re-template.

STEP 4:  Drafting

Once your template is complete, we create a computer aided design (CAD) drawing of your countertops.  Our staff will compare our template against the quoted job and notify you of any adjustments to the final cost or concerns about the job.

STEP 5:  Fabrication

Your project manager will contact you to reconfirm all the details of your job such as stone color, edge profile, sink & faucet, seam location and job location before moving your job into fabrication.  This is your final chance to change your mind about the details of the project before stone is cut.

They will also cover anything that needs to be done on your end prior to installation.  This can include things such as access to properties, pets, etc.

STEP 5:  Scheduling Your Installation

Once your project manager has approved your project for fabrication, your next step will be scheduling your install date.  We strive to install your custom made countertops within 2 weeks after completion of the template. Wait time varies depending on our work load and stone availability.

If you have chosen full height backsplash, you will typically have two installation dates because these must be measured with the counters in place.

STEP 6:  Installation

The final step will be installation of your countertops.  Our crews will install your new stone, sink(s) and backsplash.

At this time the outstanding balance will be due.  Also, if you choose natural stone from Bailes Granite, your 10 year warranty will become active.

We do not install ANY plumbing or electric.  We recommend using a licensed professional to install faucets, drains and appliance hookups.
